Myles O’Riordan, Owner/Funeral Director, along with Mark Fletcher, Funeral Director/Pre-Arrangement Planner are the driving forces that make both Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry and Thorne Funeral Home in Cannington thrive in their communities.

“We feel that it is important to be a part of our community. Whether we are volunteering our time with different non-profit organizations or participating in community events, it is important for our fellow residents to know who we are and that we are here to help them in their time of need.”

-Myles O’Riordan

“We partnered with Funeral Plans-Canada 3 years ago and with their help we have developed a very successful preneed program. Once we put that program into action we began to see an expressed interest in pre-planning from the families in our communities. People felt more at ease with approaching us to ask questions about pre-planning or just the funeral industry in general. As funeral directors, we never want to come across as being pushy or trying to sell to families, but we noticed that the mailed questionnaire pieces opened up the conversation about the importance of planning ahead and we fund that people wanted to take care of their arrangements ahead of time to relieve their families from that stress.”

-Mark Fletcher

Since partnering with FPC we have seen our pre-need numbers grow by 35% and for that we are very happy because it ensures the future of our funeral homes. We believe the marketing campaigns they develop, along with our collaboration, are the main reason we have such a strong pre-need program. The team at FPC is always ready to help with whatever we may need; developing a seminar program, customizing a questionnaire and targeting it to just the right audience, training and developing with staff, and the customer service we receive is excellent –every time.
